In cool and drizzly weather conditions, Six of us set out on an 8 mile scenic route, from Langcliffe to the pretty village of Feizer via the limestone edge of Gigglesworth Scar. From Feizer, we joined the Dales High Way below Smearsett Scar, before descending into Stainforth, passing Stainforth Force, where the waterfall normally tumbles through its rocky gorge, but a long spell of dry weather has left the falls dry. The return route allowed us to explore the impressive Hoffmann Kiln, a vast, echoing industrial relic hidden in the woods, before we continued along the Limeworks Trail back to Langcliffe.

In warm sunny weather, Barbara Shelton led a group of 9 walkers on a fairly level route taking in fields and parkland around Heath Charnock and Adlington.
The walk had been shortened to 6 miles due to the ongoing hot weather conditions. It was a mostly level route, starting off along the River Yarrow, passing Coppull Hall, then using lanes and tracks to join the Leeds-Liverpool canal, which we followed for about 2 miles. One mile from the end, we were joined by Norman Thomas and had a leisurely break at Frederick's ice cream parlour, which has 46 flavours on offer as well as coffee and cake. The route had quite a lot of shade, and we took water breaks as needed.

From there, the route wound into Hebden before descending towards Burnsall, and finished off with a relaxed riverside stroll along the River Wharfe, crossing the suspension bridge and passing Linton Falls before returning to Grassington.

A noticeably cooler day made a refreshing change from the recent warm spell. Although a couple of downpours greeted the group at the very start, the rest of the walk remained dry, with a strong wind adding a definite chill to the air.
From Dale Head, Gill Kent led a group of four walkers on a circular route, following lanes and footpaths towards Foxup before turning east to approach Pen‑y‑Ghent from the quieter, northern side via Plover Hill. A steep ascent brought the group to the summit, where they were rewarded with wide views despite the blustery conditions. The return was via the dramatic, rocky southern face of the hill, descending carefully before completing the loop back to the start point.

On a beautifully sunny day, Malcolm Chester led a group of ten walkers on a scenic route to Towneley Park. The walk climbed steadily through the remains of Gambleside village before continuing past Compton’s Cross and on to Walk Mill, following sections of the Pennine Bridleway and the Burnley Way, arriving at Towneley Hall for a lunch stop in the parkland.
The return leg offered contrasting scenery, crossing Burnley Golf Club and winding through Dunnockshaw Community Woodland. A steep descent then brought the group back to Crowbridge Reservoir, finishing with a short stroll along the reservoir path back to the car park.
