In sunny but cool conditions, 10 walkers met at Waddington village for a ten-mile walk. After the recent rainfall, footpaths were expected to be wet, and so it proved, with a number stream crossings being difficult to cross without getting your feet wet, The route involved a trip around Ribble Valley footpaths and lanes via West Bradford and the Old Forge, crossing numerous swollen streams, and visiting a 17th Century Saddle Bridge ( listed building ) which legend claims to have been built in one night by fairies to help a woodcutter escape a witch. After the walk, some of the group went to The Lower Buck Inn for refreshments.
