With the imminent arrival of Storm Herminia, 11 walkers assembled on Hud Rake near The Griffin Pub for a 9 mile walk around Rossendale. The walk was mainly on good tracks and paths, but with some stretches on the moorland which were very muddy in places. The route took us from Hud Rake to Stone Fold where we picked up The Rossendale Way to Goodshaw Hill then Loveclough and Clowbridge for the lunch break. We continued the walk in very cold, muddy and windy conditions across Meadow Head to Crawshawbooth. From Crawshawbooth we continued via Cribden End to The Panoptican Halo then back to Hud Rake and The Griffin Pub for a well-earned drink.
