Route Summary: From Lumb Carr Road carpark we followed Moorbottom road as far as Lark Hill where we stopped for the morning break before descending down the hill to Hawkshaw Lane. We then walked down Hawkshaw Lane to New Hoyles farm where we turned off and crossed muddy fields to Spenleach Lane. Crossing Bolton Road, we continued along more muddy footpaths to Greenmount Golf Club and on to Holly Mount, then down Holly Mount Lane to Holcombe Road. From here we continued along tracks and lanes to Summerseat where we had the lunch break. The return route took us up Robin Road, Woodhey Road and Holcombe Old Road back to the start and for some, The Shoulder of Mutton for drinks. Although the weather condition were forecast to be very windy and wet with occasional hail flurries it didn't seem to deter the 11 walkers who turned out to brave the weather conditions.
