Ed Husband led a group of 12 on this walk, on a rainy day. The rain gradually eased off, and had stopped by the time the walk ended in Bury. The group took the 9:15 471 bus from Bury to Bolton. The walk then started from Bolton Bus Station in heavy rain. This eased off gradually during the day. The route was along Great Moor Street, Breightmet Street and River Street to cross the A666 St. Peter’s Way, and then along Hilden Street, to take the paths alongside St. Peter’s Way to Burnden Clough. The route was then north on the west side the Croal, and then south on the east side of the Croal, to take the footpath to Darcy Lever for a morning break. The route continued to Moses Gate and Nob End, Ringley, Cinder Hill, and south-east to join the Sculpture Trail, where lunch was taken, under the trees for shelter. The route was then north to cross the Irwell, and then east, alongside the canal, to Radcliffe. Some left the walk as the route passed close to where they live, and the remaining walkers continued north alongside the canal to Elton Reservoir, Bury and the Trackside Bar.
