Mike Minett led a group of 16, plus two dogs, on a by-now traditional New Year’s welcome walk from Turton Towers. The weather was fine and dry, but had dropped below zero overnight, so there were a few icy patches. From Turton Towers, the route was north on the Witton Weavers Way, crossing the Green Arms Road and dropping down to Entwistle Reservoir, and past the Strawbury Duck to Entwistle Station. The route was then around the north of Wayoh Reservoir, and then south, following its east bank, to Turton Bottoms, and onward to Jumbles. The reservoir was crossed via the bridge, and the route was finally NW to Lithermans Bridge, leaving a short stroll down the road, back to the start.
