Starting from Chadkirk Chapel and Country Estate near Romiley, Tracey Parton led a group of ten walkers on a 10.5 mile walk on footpaths around Romiley and Compstall. The route first went along the Peak Forest Canal, then climbed up onto Werneth Low, where the morning break was taken with great views over the Manchester Skyline and on to the West Pennine Hills beyond. After the break, the walk continued to The Hyde War Memorial at Werneth Low Country Park, then on a footpath recently re-opened, after being closed due to subsidence for 4 years, to Etherow Country Park for the lunch stop. After the lunch break and inspection of the weir at Etherow Park, the group continued through the park to Compstall village and then across the Salford Iron Bridge into and through Brabyns Park back onto the Peak Forest Canal and across the Marple Aqueduct before returning to the start via Chadkirk Chapel.
