In wet and muddy conditions, Tracey Parton led 13 walkers on a 9 mile walk from Syke Methodist church. We first stopped at Rochdale’s Stonehenge, Healey Stones, for photos. We then continued down into Healey Dell, stopping on the riverside for the morning break. Then onto the moors at Slack Gate and the lunch stop at the farm ruins in Old Tom's Wood with misty views overlooking Watergrove Reservoir. The route then went past Rydings Dam and grazing ponies in the meadows back to the start of the walk. A group of walkers went into The Donkey pub for refreshments after the walk.
