Lunch at Peel Tower

This week Mike Lee led a 10 mile local walk around the hills above Helmshore in sunny but windy weather with some showers. This walk included a lunch stop at the Peel Tower Peel Tower which had been opened to raise funds for MNDA and MS Trust charities. This gave members the opportunity to patronise the drinks and cakes stall and climb the tower to the viewing platform (small charge). The route was Helmshore, Great House, Bull Hill, Pilgrims' Cross, Peel Tower for lunch and returned via Moor Road and Irwell Vale Church tea room for an afternoon break before returning to the start via Snig Hole. After the walk, some walkers went to the Robin Hood pub for drinks.
